Chamber finds new manager Jonathan Green NEWS REPORTER For the third time in less than a year, the Castlegar and District Chamber of Commerce has a new manager. Renee Read assumed the position Monday, taking over from interim manager Dale Nielsen. Nielsen took over in January when Luella Andreashuk resigned after six months. Read brings three years of experience as manager of Fort St. John’s chamber to the position, as well as training in both a business information and tourist information centres. Chamber manager Steve Pelton said Read’s experience and the fact that she can do the job on a part- time basis were definite factors. “We found we’d be better @ off to contact cb: 0-6. e individuals in t h e community who could manage it on a part-time basis,” he said. ‘ Pelton said with the chamber already aving a full-ti only so much money to pay a manager, a part-time manager was the way to go and for that he thanked Nielsen. “He’s the one who showed it could be managed ona part-time basis,” he said. “He did a wonderful job.” a.
