Recreation Now, as I write this the weather outside is great and I'm told that the Three Musketeers are ready and waiting for us at the Upper Course and Chris Christianson is starting to talk about a trip up the . ,valley to Winlaw before long..That course should be about ready now and I'm told tbatlloaland should be off and running by April 1. So, it's going to be, get the clubs out and be ready for a good season. That'll take us through to early October. And now, to curling results for the past season and to the preparations for the windup do. In the first competition Russ Broughton skipped his rink of "Spud" Martin, Jack McDonald, Hal McCormick and Jack Mitchell, to victory in the Bill Scott-Jack Molyneux trophy. Competition No. 2 saw Dan Burnett pilot his group of Bart Dudley, Larry Prough, Roly Ellis and Don 1.anussi to win the Legion trophy. the club trophy for the third competition was also won by Russ Broughton with heJ.p from Joe Bielli, Cleve Cowland, George Staudinger and Willie Dorey. The final competition for the Bank of Montreal trophy was taken by Angus Popplewell with help from Joe Bielli, Jim ~ son, Al Besso and Cliff Davison. . As I have said before, it was a good season and while you'll notice a couple of names crop up twice in the trophy list quite a bunch of the newer curlers have their names on it, which is a good deal all around. Names of the above winners are in order, skip, third, second, lead and fifth man. The format for the Plugs and Colts windup is four-end games with a point an end plus two for a win and one each for a tie. Games will be played on Thursday (yesterday) and Tuesday with the lunch on Tuesday. So, it's time to say 'Til enxt time then!
