A common complaint with drivers on long trips during the summer is that they get head- aches from too much visual work behind the wheel. Salemen and truckdrivers are used to this complaint and they. know how to avoid it, The trouble is caused by concentra- ting on objects flashing by at close range, And the way to prevent it is to shift the eye from one spot in front of the car to one on the horizon every so often. Another cause of headaches is faulty sun glasses. Bubbles or jJother distortions in the lenses ean cause eye irritation that can leave a splitting headache. « It is better to buy good qua- lity glasses for driving than to OUR 7th ANNUAL We Offer OUTSIDE WHITE PRIMER OUTSIDE WHITE FINISH COAT INSIDE WHITE UNDER COAT INSIDE GLOSS ENAMEL INT SALE CONTINUES $4.37 $4.37 $4.37 $4.37 $1.31 $1.31 $1.31 $1.31 Latex Rubber Base Paint in ten colors and while Gallon ........ $5.45 Sale will continue while present stock lasts — come in and make your selcetion while stocks are complete take a chance on cheap ones, You should also avoid lenses that are too dark. A good idea.when driving is to pull off the road every hund- red miles or so or change posi- tiens with another passenger for a five-minute eye rest. Actually, when your eyes tire while driv- ing, it's time to turn in, Driving is like any other oc- cupation: if you do too. much of it you get fatigued. And fatigue makes the driver less able to handle his car skilfully. Surveys have discovered that a driver in the city has to make fifty. decisions per hour .and many of them on the spur of the moment, Country driving calls for 20 decisions an hour. These decisions are tiring, and the more tired a driver gets, the less able he is to make de- eisions accurately. Seventy-five per cent of accidents are caused by law violations that have been brought about by 4 leck of alert- ness, Over and over police invest- igating an accident have heard the plea “I didn’t see the sig- nal."
