Funeral service was held at St David's Anglican Church on Tues: day, October 12, 1993 at 10:30 am with Canon Dorothy Barker offici ating. Cremation followed Dr. Fowler was born July 15 1915 at Kaslo, B.C. Pat grew up and attended primary school in Riondel, attended Prep School in Vernon and graduated from High School in Kaslo. The Mining Association of Canada until 1945 when he enrolled in Pre-Med and graduated in medicine from University of British Columbia in 1951 and served one year internship at Vancouver General Hospital. In 1952 Pat came to Castlegar. Pat worked with Dr, Art Johnson for a few years and in the early 1960's he encouraged Dr. Waldo Yule to join him and together they built a clinic. Dr. John Wal ton joined them in 1965 and Dr Roy Ward joined the practice in 1967. Pat retired in 1977 but con tinued to do locums for doctors all over the province a job that Pat thoroughly enjoyed Pat was a member of the Kiwanis Club, Rotary, Arrow Boat Club and was an active member of the Chamber of Com. merce working on many projects and actively opposed the con struction of the Hi-Arrow Dam He was active in the Kinnaird Little Theatre and was a candi date in 1963 for representative to the Federal Parliament. Pat had a love for the out of doors and enjoyed hunting, fishing and boating. A favorite pastime of Pat's was playing the piano and the harmonica. Pat is survived by his wife Ann of Robson, one son, John of Vancouver, three daughters Pauline Fowler of London, Eng land, Nancy Christenson of Edmonton, and Ellen Fowter of Vancouver. Five grandchildren one sister, Frances Tomlinson of Montreal. He was predeceased by one brother, Peter H. Nancylee's exhibition is titled, “Salamander Dreams” and it explores her joy in life. “My mother used to say that I walked arourd with my head in the clouds—this remains true. I am living in a little house high on the mount surrounded by rocks, trees, water and all the critters,” said Smith. Smith has been collecting rocks since her childhood in Ontario, and now, having worked primarily in stone during the past year she said she is learning to release the spirits within the stone Her conviction of the healing power of the earth is expressed in her paintings as well. Smith's work has been seen in Nelson in the sets of the Light and Power Theatre Company.
