Torres to speak Sunday The Pentecostal Taberna cle will be having special meetings with Ben Torres Feb. 9. Torres, who will be min istering from the Word of God, was born in Puerto Rico and grew up in Brooklyn where he became a street gang member and drug ad dict, a news release from the Pentecostal Tabernacle says. Though he wanted to kick the drug habit, he became convinced there was no help, no way he could free himself, the release says. In 1966 after 11 years of addiction to heroin, Torres entered the Teen Challenge Centre in Brooklyn to seek help. Dave Wilkerson, foun der of Teen Challenge, pray ed with him asking Jesus to deliver him, the release adds. Since Torres became a new creature in Christ, he has been sharing the transform ing love of Jesus with other people. Torres has a teaching min istry on radio and TV.
