Went to the P.T.A. executive
meeting last week. The Variety
Concert is shaping up quite nice-
ly and you'll really be missing

contacted the various organiza-
tions in the district which .have
indicated that they are prepared
to support the Bridge Commit-
tee, asking that each organiza-
tion write to Hon. E. T. Kenney,
minister of public works, urging
action on the bridge. The com-
mittee has prepared a number
of sample letters and any or-
ganization wishing to make use
of these can get them by get-

Saturday I had promised Lois
Hughes bride of 5 months
and newcomer to Castlegar, we
would go and call on the Johnnie
Clark’s — it seems Lois’ sister
and Mrs. Clark went to school
together — she even had some
“rare” pictures taken about age
10, cute as can be and looking
just like little Patty Clark now.
Well, we had a very nice visit—
Susan Wapple was there and I
must say — nice as those peo-
ple are, they certainly have a
queer sense of humor at times.
Clark’s collie dog has. a new
family but I’ll say one thing;

Sunday after a two month lay
up we rolled the station wagon
out of winter quarters — stuck
it together with chewing gum
— put water in the radiator and
gas in the tank and started out
for a ride. Of course, we were
heading for Rossland but didn’t
want to say it in front of “Mr.
Ford” for fear he would lose
heart and give up before he even
tried it. Most vehicles are called
“she” but this one is far too
unladylike to be called that. 1
think there are rules and regula-
tions governing printing what I
call it. When a natural born
mechanic drives, it never acts
up at all but just let me get
behind that wheel for fjve min-
utes and “she is no lady” — the
car’ I mean.
