On view from Jan. 10 to Feb. 11, this large exhibition of prints, drawings, and sculpture by the Inuit people of the Canadian Arctic has been sent to the Kootenays by the Winnipeg Art Gallery. There are over 100 works on display, ranging in size from large to minute. These are not the usual pieces found in tourist shops. “The objects in this exhibition show how the Inuit have ingeniously -integrated alien southern ideas into their own culture.” The exhibition will be on display concurrently with An dreas Nieman’s series of recent photographs entitled “Trees, the Second Look.” A resident of Salmo, Nie- man has’ photographed the landscape without resort to the famillar cliches usually seen. “I have attempted to re- cord the everyday life of the landscape which most of us never get to see. Revolution In A.M. TV Jack Webster's new morn- ing program on BCTV has caused a revolution in morning television viewing. Webster is attracting prime time audiences to time periods that have traditionally been a wasteland of soap operas and game shows, “It's suecess beyond our wildest dreams,” said Webster last week. In the first three months on the air, the pro- gram's reporting was credited with bringing to bear enough pressure to end the Kootenay schools dispute. Also included were an in-depth investigation’ into the conduct of B.C.’s judges,.and a look at prostitu- tion in Vancouver. Webster admits to losing one battle on the air — when he blushed and fidgeted through- out an hilarious encounter with actress and “sex pot” Shirley Maclaine.
