raises $9,450

A meeting of the Castlegar
and District unit of the Can-
adian Cancer Society was
held recently with six mem-
bers present.

A report by the treasurer,
Dorothy Martini, showed “In
Memorium” donations for
1985 totalled $2,260.68.

Campaign chairperson,
Mrs. J. Martini reported
$9,452.03 was raised through
the campaign last April.

The contributions to Steve
Fonyo’s Journey for Lives
campaign totalled an addi.
tional $2,883.05 including
$613 raised by the Kinnaird
Junior Secondary School
workathon.

Rita Ross, District Mas
tectomy Chairman, advised
that she now has three
mastectomy volunteers
working with her: two in the
Castlegar area and one in the
Slocan Valley.

Ruby Marsh, who has
taken over as Patients’ Ser-
vices nurse, reported an ac-
