The weather has decided to warm up and the sprinklers are out in full force gain. * Now that the members are back in the groove I have been asked to do a little sermonizing ‘which is not exactly in my line, but here goes. Several times this past week it has been very notice: able that several of the greens have very severe spike tears in them. This is not very good for the greens and is actually.the reault: of carelessness on the part of the golfers concerned. Surely it is not too much to ‘ask that we all use a bit of care when holing out. Dragging ones feet, even if one has just missed a two foot putt, is inexcusable and shows very ttle considera- tion for those that follow. Pick up your feet as though every hole was a birdie and you ‘will make things a lot easier for the next golfer, the maintain ance crew and the club execu- tive. + , ‘The other matter is that of etiquette, Most of our members behave very well on the course, but there are a few who seem to -*think everything bas been laid on for, thems alone and no one » else mat Winther itis, ing % play: by ‘unnecessary del smaking a shot, or. hitting ie “ball before the players ahead are’ out’ of; range, is Tot ‘just improper etiquette but rather 8 : display or poor sportsmansh|} “The Golden Rule applies just ag much onthe course as anywhere else 20, “If you don't Wont" it done to you, ot ¥ It to Night did not to off too. well. “The game.was Low Net using irons aly, but I believe it was the heat more than anything else that held the ‘numbers For reservations, write to: down.’ THE MAYFAIR H OTEL Fifty-eight entries took part in real iscorching condi: 845 Hornby St...
