More than one year ago, Allen and other previously-injured workers started the Southern Association of Injured and Dis- abled Workers, a non-profit group that now has.a member- ship of 80. The association has been growing, and benefits by their employers or ao tion Board of B.C.. Some cases are not so diffi- cult, while others border on the extreme, It is these cases, that date back several years, in which men and women have often given up hope. As a result of little or no benefits, they have lost not only their vehi- cles, homes and sometimes ies, but their. self-est as well. These cases, said Allen, are the ones that can sometimes lead to drug and support in Trail and Castlegar has been good. The association assists numer- ous injured workers, many of whom have been unjustly denied tendencies and the inability to interact socially. The Souther Association of Injured and Disabled Workers, based in Trail, relies mainly on donations for its efforts to help and advocate on behalf of injured workers.
