After the initial.rush the game became sloppy as the defense started to cheat and let Cariboo get some easy buckets. The first half ended 45-33 for Selkirk and the game ended 89-74 for Selkirk as the subs received more playing time. Kim Becker again led all scorers with 28, followed by Grant Bennett with 17, Steve Richards with 14, Bruce Hlady with 12 and Joe Tarasoff with 10. Renee Ron Nash again led Cari- boo with 26 and Kevin Lee popped 17. Coach Zeeben was pleased to see four and five players in double figures. “Our guys were * finally looking and hitting the open man and heading maning the ball much better—and it shows on better all-round scor- ing. Hockey action in the west- ern division of the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League saw the Castlegar - Junior Rebels win three con- secutive games in as many atarts last week, downing Nel- son 6-2, Creston 5-2, and Rossland 9-5, In Nelson on Tuesday, the Rebels completely dominated the game, keeping their hosts tied up in their end most of the night. Chris Vlanich had an easy night, making only 13 saves, Nelson scored first when, dumping the puck high in the air, Kevin Wilson stepped across Vlanich knocking the puck past a startled goaltender. Another defensive error caused Nelson's second goal as Glen Dunsmore threw the puck in the slot blind to a Nelson player.
