SHSS and Nelson both picked up 11 points while Grand Forks picked up 3 points. The final standings are: Nelson—39 points, SHSS—37 points and Grand Forks—6 points. SHSS, continuing their dominance in sports, won the Kootenay Track Meet. The West Kootenay Teams also defeated the East Kootenays. The top three standings were: SHSS 199 - BVJSS Mt. Baker (Cranbrook) 108 Harry Haley qualified in the 100 meter, 200 meters and Long Jump for the provincial meet, Mike Conkin qualified for the provincials in the shot put, discus and hammer throw.
