Chicago, Oct. 25.—The disposition of the estimatee $60,000,000 left by the late Geo. M. Pullman will not be known for at least another day, it being impossible to probate the will before tomorrow. That assurance Robert.Lincoln and M. Norman Ream, executor of the estate of the multi-millionaire, expressed with authority today. They said that even by tomorrow it was doubtful whether they would be able to offer the will for probate. The property left is so vast it may take several days to estimate its value, as the law requires, All sorts of stories are current in fin- ancial circles over the will.: It -is said positively that the estate will not be worth over $20,000,000 or $25,000,000. Some well known real estate men, how- ever, say that George M. Pullman’ come hag averaged $10,000,000 annually for a number of years. This office and the ‘citizens of this yicinity are constantly re- ceiving inquiries concerning this section of the country which are difficuit to answer by letter, so the Recorp gives the following information for the beneht of all: Rossland is situated in British Columbia, eight miles trom the international ‘boundary line be- tween Canada and the -United States, It is reached from the north via the Canadian Pacific to A d, on the C river, from there tv Trail by steamer, and from Trail to Ross- land by the Columbia & Western railway. From the south via Spokane, Ww y-the Sp Falls & Northern and Columbia & Red Mountain railways, Rossland has forty hotels, with bars, eating and lodging rvoms, and a dozen restaurants. There are three weekly news- papers and two dailies. All other branches of business are well represented. The popula- tion is variously estima from 6000 to 7500. Board and lodging at the ho- tels, $2 to $3 per day. Meals 25 to 50 cents. Furnished rooms, $2.50 to $7 per week. Itis useless to write and ask if any particular. business. would pay here. Everybody must be his own judge and take his own chances, While there is not work tor all who iaquire, most sober, jus trious persons who really. wish to work have so far been able to obtain it. We would not advise any man to land here ‘‘broke” without friends, although many who have done so are doing well. This camp is now setthog down on ® business basis. The populace is engaged not only in working the mines and conducting the busi- ness of the town, but are buying. ry, A.G. WALLIB. | Head Office in Canada, 8t. James, St., Mont- H.
