ROSBLAND BVENING REGORD, JANUARY 14, 3908, MUGH IMPROVED The Methodist Church Will Be Form- ally Re-Opened. SERMONS BY REV. MR. COOL After Being Thoroughly Renovated at » Cost of $1000, the Church Will Be Thrown Open on Scndsy—Will Have Pews Pot in Throughout. The services on the occasion of the. re-opening of the Methodist church after extensive improve- ments will be held next Sunday morning and evening with sermons by Rev. P. A. Cool, pastor of the First M. E. church of Spokane, Rev. George H. Morden, the pastor,con- ducting the services. The church has been closed for six weeks while these improvements were made. Electric lights were installed, the whole building lathed and plastered, a lobby constructed and the basement improved so that the building is much warmer than hitherto. Further improvements are to be made, the ladies having let a con- tract for pews to seat the entire church. In the spring a portico will be built extending ten feet to the sidewalk and nearly the whole width of the church. The church has incurred a debt of about $1000 for this work and will make an appeal to the people for subscriptions to pay it.
